Switch Emulator – Ryujinx

Suyu is an experimental open-source Nintendo Switch emulator and debugger written in C++. It is one of the main continuations of yuzu.

Unlike its parent project, the Switch firmware is required (like older versions of yuzu) as well a title.keys file for eshop/nsp games, updates and DLCs (on yuzu, they were auto generated if missing).

The repository was originally hosted on GitLab, but it was forced to move after GitLab took it down, citing the use of the raw yuzu code. Their discord server is shut down (see “2024 – Yuzu (Switch) vs. Nintendo” section of the Legal Status of Emulation page), the project could be considered dead.

  • Go to the official Ryujinx site, and select Download under Windows, Linux (x86_64), Linux (arm64) or macOS, depending on your device.
  • Ryujinx will then start downloading the correct version for the operating system of your PC.
  • Once Ryujinx finishes downloading, extract the downloaded .zip folder. On Windows, you can do this by opening the .zip folder and choosing to Extract all.
  • With the .zip folder for Ryujinx extracted to a location of your choice, access Ryujinx by opening the Application file named Ryujinx from the extracted files.

By following these steps you should be able to launch the Suyu emulator on your PC. However, if you want to play Nintendo Switch games on it, you will have to configurate the Suyu.

How to Set Up Ruyjinx for Nintendo Switch Emulation

By default, Ryujinx stores its core files (such as firmware, save data, shader caches, and settings) in your application data folder. This location varies depending on your operating system:

    • Windows: %appdata%/Ryujinx
    • Linux/macOS: Equivalent application data folder

If you prefer Ryujinx to be entirely self-contained and not rely on separate system folders, you can enable portable mode.

1. Ensure Prod.Keys Is Located in Your Version of Ryujinx

2. Install the Latest Firmware to Your Version of Ryujinx
